| Ratisbon |
| Ratisbon - what a strange name. I have not been able to find a proper definition of it, but it seems to be of Celtic origin. The German name sounds better to me: Regensburg. There are a few sights, including the oldest stone bridge in Germany, Porta Pretoria and the cathedral of Ratisbon. The Altstadt (Old Town) survived relatively intact from the bombings of World War II. I saw the Danube for the first time in my life, when I visited the city 17 July. |
