| Potsdamer Platz - the new posh area of Berlin! |
| The Potsdamer Platz has always been a living part of Berlin, but during DDR (GDR)-times the district was closed to everyone, because the Berlin Wall ran right through it. If you tried to get near it from the eastern side you were probably shot, but if you came from the west you would perhaps only see youngsters with spray cans. Many years after the fall this was the biggest working area in Europe. So much free land had to come to some use after years of hosting the wall. The pictures were taken in July 2003. |
