Melsungen was the only place in Hesse that we saw 2006, and the city of 15,000 people was chosen just because I had read about in a course book for beginners in German in 1999. Well, we were not disappointed at all; I happen to think that it is the most beautiful city in Germany! We used Hesse as a transit state, and therefore we have not that many pictures to show from this state. When I worked with the Rhineland-Pfalz site I discovered that we had crossed the Rhine at Niederheimbach and Lorch, which meant that we had entered the state of Hesse! But I will show the photos under the heading of Rhineland-Pfalz instead.
