North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia is the biggest state in Germany population-wise with over 17,000,000 Million people. We could notice enormous traffic every day, except for the Sunday we visited 10 cities in the Ruhr-area. We did and saw so much, it is difficult to enumerate everything here. The worst, or the best, thing, is that there is a lot left to be seen. There are so many cities left that we would like to see properly, among them Münster, Bielefeld, Essen and some smaller cities like Neuss, Witten and Bergisch Gladbach. Essen has a fascinating name, and I liked the city, even though it was Sunday morning, and absolutely nothing was open.

One of the things we did, was to see the game between Germany and Argentine sitting together with 50 other persons in Karstadt Department Store in Bonn. The staff was very friendly, even putting up with people lying in showcase beds.

In Wuppertal we went with a flying train above the river Wupper. We had not seen anything like it before, and we had to test it. It is very safe, only a few people have died using it. The most famous passenger ever on the Schwebebahn, as it is called in German, is an elephant using it but it fell off.
