Esens, Emden and Groningen
After the low tide we found a hotel in the city of Esens a little inland. Wieting's Hotel was definitely among the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. The staff was friendly and service-minded. In the morning we took a walk in the city and after that we went to Emden on the Dutch border. Groningen in the Netherlands was not far away, and I have always wanted to see it (photos 13-21), so we went there. There were few parking spaces around so we could only be one hour in the city as we found one allowing us to park for one hour. Osnabrück in Germany was the preferred destination after our Dutch detour.
